Sassy lil Sketch

28th Sketch reveal day for Sassy Lil Sketches-
here was the sketch...

Here's my take,...

I actually stayed pretty close to the sketch this month and used lovely fancy pants and Glitz papers that matched Jessie's birthday cake so well!

Love punching those random holes, speckled through the layout.

head over now for some inspiration..

1-2-3 Challenge

Another fun challenge over at 123challenge
This month: 1. colour=LIME ; 2. word = "really"; 3. Extra = Use fabric.
Love this challenge site - it is always so do-able and inspiring!

Starting to use some of my new papers - this time My minds Eye Stella and Rose, Crate paper and Sassafras.
Used my new purple pumpkin spotty button and yoyo flower.

What I love about these colour challenges is gathering all the little bits and pieces in the colour (this one was LIME GREEN) and chucking them all together onto a layout! I found some Lime fabric and used for the ties and behind the photos.

Ha ha ha - don't you love pulling old photos out of the vault for something different to scrapbook every now and then..

Without further ado - here it is...
THANKS!

Showing off my new ALBUMS!

So come on - check this out!

Yesterday I put a few boxes of layouts I had, into albums! yay!
ta-da!

I have the wonderful Expedit book shelf from Ikea and this is where I keep my albums, plus the kids book library is down the bottom (for now - one day no doubt, the albums will take over!).  This shelf is also a room divider - my office and scrap space are behind it!

But before they made it into here, I had to sort all the pages, by month and year, or by child....

Layouts everywhere!

Piles for each girl!

2009!

2010 - ran outta albums before these went in - they are back in boxes!

And here it is.... this is magnificent! So proud of myself!

I use We R memory Keepers Linen albums. Blue are family albums for each year and then each child has her own colour.  Just starting Silverstone for all the BC (before children) layouts and Hazelnut for all the special events/trips/holidays.

Good night!

First time for EVERYTHING!

Hi everyone!

I am currently enjoying the Easter holidays and today I tackled a big job - layouts into albums - that's a blog post all on its own!

Anyway - I did something I promised myself I would never do - I pulled apart an old layout and re-did it! And not just any layout - MY FIRST EVER LAYOUT (created at a CM party). As I moved layouts around and into new albums I saw my earliest work and yes, oval and circle photos feature predominantly! Only on a title page, did I add some flowers and a new title - every thing else I managed to leave! As bad as that early work is, it shows my evolution and just how far I have come. Other than this layout....

SOOOOOO....... as embarrassing as it is - here  is that first ever layout..... before I attacked it this afternoon....

Glorious I know - check out the calligraphy pen title and cool stickers...

While, I pulled all the photos of easily enough, turned some of those ovals back into rectangles. I kept all the journalling and tried to embrace the ovals.  Here is the fix up job>>>>

So much better I reckon!

Now that's it - those layouts are in the final destination now - I will not pull apart and redo anymore old layouts, I promise - I need to focus on all my future projects!

White with 1

So it's the beginning of April and again I'm gonna throw my hand at some of the awesome blog challenges we have. First up White with 1.

Here's the funny thing - last week I had SO much scrapping to get done for design team commitments that I had to have a BREAK (!!) and I didn't scrap for a whole 4 days! Well this morning I couldn't stop thinking about this White with 1 page and while Dave was hanging out washing, vacuuming and tidying (bless!), I selfishly ignored everything and went about creating this lovely page. Hope you like! The challenge was to use WHITE - with one colour- this month OLIVE GREEN, plus add twine.

I used whiteish background (Crate Paper) and then Olive paper (basic grey) - distressed and swiped with white paint.  Behind the photos, I painted white lightly before using my Prima script stamp with white ink - loving that look! Painted some lines for my journalling too. I square-punched and inked some lovely NEW prima paper and then finished off with brads, eyelets, washers, a flower, and of course twine.  I rolled twine around in a circle, which look cool too. Title using new Fancy pants letter on a Pink Paislee pleated ribbon. Done.
