Scrap the GIRLS

Over at Scrap the Girls for July, you needed to create a layout inspired by the latest PINK greatest hits album, plus use the lyrics in journalling or title.

So I created this:

ON top of the STG challenge - During the retreat, Moira had made us do a LUCKY DIP - this meant we had to draw a number from one hat and an item from the other hat.  So added to this layout I had to use:
1 button (thanks to Charms creations for the ONE button on her lollipop)
7 bling
and  8 alphabets (mean) and i counted the masked 'A', as one of the alphas!

So there it is! Thanks for looking!

MOIRA'S SKETCH CHALLENGES

This week for our Retreat, my good friend Moira Coates organised some challenges for us to do - 4 pages of them actually!

One of the challenges was to complete SKETCH BINGO - 8 sketches, first won to finish yells BINGO.  Michaela won - I tried to beat her, but apparently a few of my layouts were too wide interpretations of the original sketch (non-conformist me!) so I couldn't beat her - and fair enough, she was an organised machine and did a great job!  I eventually found photos and completed all the sketches better.

She picked a page of Sketches from The AMAZING Jana Eubank

This was the page of eight sketches....
Here are our pages (excuse the bad photos, done on my iphone from a chair!)

Michaela's SKETCHES:

MY SKETCHES:
Yes, I flipped some sketches and used different photo sizes, but tried to stick to them!

CHRIS' SKETCHES

MOIRA'S SKETCHES:

AND KERRY'S SKETCHES (with 2 spaces- I'm sure she's have them done next time I see her!)

WAY TO GO girls!
It WAS so awesome to see all the layouts lined up - each one different, but all taken from the same starting point!

HERE ARE THE CLOSE UPS OF MY SKETCHES....

RED EARTH ROAD TRIP

This week over at Red Earth  road trip we went to the snowy mountains and were inspired by WHITE!

I did this layout....

 CLOSE UP OF FLOWERS, etc....
The WHAT: white cardstock and scraps of paper.  Used PRIMA PACKAGING (one of Moira's challenges for the week!), snow flake (carefully inked and disguised amongst the flowers), more flowers, maya road ribbon, fancy pants letters, and I handmade the muslin flower. Scattered "clear crystal" beads from a broken bracelet too.

The WHY: I did this layout first thing on Thursday morning, after a huge emotional unload session with the girls on Wednesday night (thanks for listening girls).  I wanted to relax and enjoy my scrapping and put aside my stress and worries, so I gave myself the affirmation to have a HAPPY and CLEAR state of mind.  It worked! I felt so much better all day! I kept looking at this layout, because it is JUST stunning - I reckon anyway!

Plus we needed to do a glittery card... MINE:

BIT hard to see, but I used glitter paint on the flower and to paint the leaves of my lovely new stamp!

Thanks for stopping by!

BLOG WARNING...!!!

I have LOTS to post after 3 days away scrapping this week with the girls (friends met and made at Scrapbooks ETC Brisbane).

Escaped to Toowoomba, stayed at a hotel and rented the conference room.  Took ALL our stuff and scrapped for a total of ABOUT 36 hours over the 3 days (give or take a few minutes with breaks for food!). I was tired, but I reckon I could of kept going!

CAN'T wait to share my creations!

I did 26 layouts and just 1 lonely card!  Some were for challenges and others were for me!  All in all, I was happy with my creations, but most of all, just LOVED being away with the girls, talking and sharing!

End of the month challenges

Silly blogger playing up on June 30th, when I was trying to upload some pages I created to meet some online challenges.  I think I was able to link the pages via Facebook, but thought I should share them here too!

These were NEW challenges to me.  Ones I happened upon after spending some time on Chat with Charm.

Beyond the door... Inspiration from what's behind the door....

Painted, misted and machine stitched some Fancy Pants dollies.
Bit of Sassafras and Prima paper, plus Crate paper - tag cut from one of their lovely papers!
Twine and button from Purple Pumpkin, plus brads and bits!

And for the first time, I did Once upon a Sketch

Papers: Sassafras, Lillybee designs, crate, MME
Letters: MME and Sassafras
Ribbons, lace, string, buttons and did you spot more lovelies from Charms Creations and Purple Pumpkin!

Last one for tonight... I did the LOLLIPOP LADIES - inspiration from yummy things!

So I tried that messy grungy kinda layout, not sure it worked.... Inspired by a photo of chocolate dripping off some beaters - needed brown and metal on the layout.

Kraft paper with paint and mist, plus paper scraps, metal bits and pieces. Just not sure about this layout...??? Anyway it was fun and done quickly and i like this fun photo of me being silly on NY eve - don't you love those self portraits sometimes?

Thanks for looking!
