OK, this month over at Scrap the girls the challenge was to use a SHE quote. Great idea... made me scrap a photo of myself!
Here it is.....
This quote says "She woke up one day and threw away her excuses". I love this quote. This photo is the of me about to get on the plane to LA. My trip to LA was the start of me trying to think in a new way. To enjoy what is around me and not make excuses for the things that aren't perfect or fantastic. So I am working on this and accepting that there are things I can change and some I cannot. Now I can get on with doing all the things that make me happy and make me appreciate my wonderful life! I find scrapping this kinda thing is so inspiring...
From a scrap perspective, I used the new prima paper with butterflies on it and prima ribbon and flowers (YUM!). But down the side were a whole heap of short bits of ribbon left over from other projects - that I threw on and sewed down!
Thanks for stopping by...

White with one
It is so nice to be able to have time to do BLOG challenges and I guess have been lucky to have the time and inspired enough to get it done. So now I get to share them here and then post them on the challenge website next to everyone else's entries!
White with 1 - this month was so me... HOT PINK was the 1 colour and using artisan shapes was the special feature. Do you know how many artisan shaped journal cards I actually found in my stash! Ha!
Enjoy..
Oh my... her eyes are gorgeous huh? Old photo of her from Jan 2010 that I found going thru some photos recently - what a find and I love this layout...

Lovely day at home
All the kids off to school/kindy today and nowhere to go and noone to see... so I was free to do my own thing. I could of cleaned the house, did the washing or unpacked a box, but what's the fun in that??? Instead I did some scrapping and facebooking and other important things! One thing I did was take some photos of layouts I've done in the past 2 months, so now I can share!
Some singles....

My turn
Hello people,
Can I just shout out to some amazing people????.... and actually they probably know who they are...
I am surrounded by kind and inspirational people and I feel lucky that I can share their journeys. It makes me proud to know I was there and could share the love. I feel even better that their words and life can help me as I move forward this year. Anyway i decided it was my turn to share.
I've already lived my one little word this year... My word being NEW... I had a NEW experience going to LA and CHA, I moved into a NEW house, bought some NEW stuff from Ikea for that NEW house, swam in a NEW pool each hot afternoon (definitely NEW for us!), started work in my NEW therapy room. Despite all this NEW around me.... I haven't changed it all around yet... (any big surprises there?).. Some of the SAME shit is still going on... oh man!
For example, I still am feeling disorganised and stressed most days. The noise in my head as I banter with what I want, and how to get it, is constant. I still feel worried about Dave and that makes me cranky and snappy at him - and if I give up being the person who saves him all the time, he'll still need me right? And I still move around in each day wondering when life will be simpler and easier.
There is always good news in this. I am aware. I know I can change it. I can create whatever life I desire my believing in myself and in my family. I have a lot to incredibly grateful for. I am blessed in many many ways. I am inspired by people around me. I am not afraid to make the changes. My husband is right beside me, ready and willing to move forward together - this time sharing the reins like never before.
I can definitely feel some scrapbooking coming on to help me define and visualise my feelings and I will share back here later.
Thanks for listening,
Amanda

123 Challenge
Hi all...
Well good news... I won the January comp over at 123challenge with my purple layout of Mum...
Well good news... I won the January comp over at 123challenge with my purple layout of Mum...
And so here is my February contribution... had to used CREAM, the word "about" and upcycling. The upcycling bit was fun - I used some bead wire I never ever used; tags from clothes; envelope from an old stationary set; cute badge from a gift store. I also used my new Prima mask I got at a workshop I did at CHA in LA in January.. fun, fun!
Thanks everyone...
Amanda
