123 Challenge

My good scrappy friends will know that 123 Challenge has always been my favourite challenge blog. It was the first challenge blog i ever completed and the first challenge blog that I ever won a prize at! Every month, if i do nothing else, I always try to do this challenge.

Well,. today, I have some great, fantastic and exciting news.... I have the great honour of joining the Creative Team at 123 Challenge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! So pleased to have my name and my projects alongside such a talented bunch of ladies.

So here is my first page for the July challenge.... this months challenge is:
1. Colour: Purple
2. Word: MY
3. Technique: Chevron

I created my chevron with patterned paper that I hand cut - panelling at the back of the layout and the extra chevron bits at the 3 points of the layout.

Some people might think that my purple stash is probably quite limited (not my colour), so I was extra happy to find so much HANDMADE HALO purple resin to load onto my layout!

Join us this month at 123 Challenge - great prizes to be in the running for!

JULY - TAKE-A-CHANCE Mystery Box... at RED EARTH

Join us this month at RED EARTH for our Mystery BOX challenge - where I give you a set of ingredients and leave it to YOU to create a project...

This month is one with a twist - one where you need to take-a-chance and put your faith in a DICE... so run now and get yourself a dice.  To decide your numbers of ingredients, you just need to roll the dice! No cheating! Take a chance!

SO: For July, you need to create a layout or project, and you MUST use the following key ingredients:
* Flowers
* Patterned Paper
* Words in the title
* Photos
You need to ROLL a dice to decide HOW MANY of each to use.

Heres what I rolled:

And here is the layout I created:
All my patterned papers and letters are from my stash.
I added some Jillibean Soup birthday stickers and some of these lovely flowers and some more of my MME brads.

Please take-a-chance - roll the dice and join us for this months Mystery challenge. Upload your project to the gallery for a chance to win a voucher to use in store.

MAY MYSTERY BOX at RED EARTH SCRAPPING

Hi everyone,

Can you believe we have hit MAY? So on the 1st of the month, it is time for me to reveal the May Mystery Box challenge that I create for RED EARTH SCRAPPING each month.

MAY MYSTERY BOX CHALLENGE
Create a layout or card using the following ingredients:
* Misting with masks - you should try to use two different types of masks
* Stitching of some kind - machine, hand or even hand-doodled is fine
* Strips of paper
* Hand written journalling - preferably lots of it!
Remember you can add your own pantry staples, but you must stick to the core ingredients as much as possible!

So today I would like to share this layout...

I used new Crafters Workshop masks - both the hearts (in stock) and chicken wire (currently out of stock, but Helen is getting more!)
I handstitched around the masked hearts (I love this!)
Used lots of paper strips - left overs from the layouts I created last week with Patterned Paper
Plus I did lots of journalling.
Letters: Prima
Embellishments: Handmade Halo Pebble, Handmade Halo Wooden Button, MME button and pins, Prima flowers I stole out of the April SUNSHINE kit.

So please join us this month.... I would LOVE to see what you cook up! Load your completed projects into the RES gallery by the end of the month for some great in store vouchers!
Thanks,
Amanda

Patterned Paper - 20% off at RED EARTH!

Hi everyone,

This week until WEDNESDAY, Red Earth Scrapping has 20% off Patterned Paper as a part of our monthly Product focus.

So this blog post is a quickie to show you some more layouts and inspiration for using patterned paper, which we all use, and own, in excess quantities!

I have the entire LILYBEE buttercup collection of papers. Here are 3 layouts I created this week (2 for our CC sketch) and as you can see, even though they are from the same range, completely different colour combinations can still be created. I love the coordinating stickers and lettering in this range too. Plus I still have some left to create more layouts!

(Title didn't quite work out - "another day to play"
I'll need to fix this when i have more time later in the week!)

Remember to SAVE all those little strips of paper because they can become quite eye-catching elements on your layout.

And I hope the BACKS of your layouts look like this - creative cutting to get the most out of your papers! This a cost effective way to get lots of layers of paper in your layouts without using lots and lots of sheets of paper!

I always like to share my double layouts too....

Now i used only 1 SHEET of double sided patterned paper on white cardstock in this layout - fast, easy, balanced and quite effective. Give it a go!

And remember my April Mystery box layout?
Remember to hand-cut elements from your patterned paper, eg. the clocks in this layout and use the papers to make your own paper flowers.

Have fun creating this week!
