"Hello there" - Stuck Sketches March

Okay, so it seems I missed the deadline to enter this page into Stuck Sketches, but thought I would blog it anyway!

Here is the fun sketch

And here is my take on it:

For my circles, I simply drew some scribbly circles, and then painted them with Colour Blast Shimmer Dust. Then added a layer of Colour Paste (in Apple of my Eye and Fire Engine) through stencils.

Then I added my photos and embellishments.

I love the green Charms Creations butterfly heart - perfect for this page!

And also the stickers from Flutterby Designs were also fabulous to finish the page.

Kraft Plus - March

Denim Revolution @ Kraft Plus!!

And here is my page..... (what screams denim more than a couple of cool chicks dressed as Hall and Oates for some retreat entertainment!)

Whitewash of Colour Blast Heavy Gesso and some splatters of Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Just Blue.

Denim arrow from Charms Creations.
Wood veneer from Rainbow Splendour/Corbett Creations.

Love these chicks!

Scrap the Girls - March

Joining in again this month with the SELFIE challenge @ Scrap the Girls!

My friend Charmane is pretty fabulous at taking selfies, so I used this photo of us. It was 80s night at the scrap retreat so bright yellows and pinks seemed perfect!

The black background had the treatment with some Colour Blast Colour Paste and Colour Shimmer sprays. {White splatters from an opaque ink spray}

Journal its, doily and punchinella from D-lish Scraps.
Music paper Banners from Charms Creations.
and Cool Cogs from Burdys Embellies.

Show Us Your Stuff - March

I love the SUYS team, so proud to design with them, and with fun and different challenges every month.

This month Charms Creations is sponsoring and I came up with a THIS or THAT challenge.

So I chose:
STARS, not hearts
BUTTONS, not sequins
WASHI, not ribbons
SPOTS, not stripes

I layered a heap of photos on the background for this layout - I think that it is a really great way to get lots of photos on a page.

My handmade elements are:
* Charms Creations DIY star - coloured with Colour Blast Shimmer Dust (in Midnight)
* Funky Flairs Studio - Zentangle Flairs

It was a bit old school to go with some buttons, brads and word stickers, but I like how it all came together!

Hope you can join us for the March challenge at SUYS.

Scrap the Boys - March 2017

Hi all,

The challenges continue at Scrap the Boys (and for me) this month, as we scrap boys (said the mother of 3 girls), this month using DIRT:

No automatic alt text available.

As soon as I saw the challenge, I remembered a photo of my little brother, that was always a favourite of mine, where he was playing in the mud. Luckily my Mum remembered it too, and was able to find the photo, scan it and email it to me.

So here is my layout.

I had an old stencil with the big splatter pattern and to be honest I had never used it. Anyway, I mixed some Colour Blast Mica Powder (Expresso brown) with some Gel Medium and put it through the stencil. It was the perfect mud splatter background!

I swiped the leftovers around the edges and even had enough to paint the 2Crafty chipboard word title.

I also used some Colour Blast Shimmer Spray in Just Blue to splatter on the page and to colour the Charms Creations DIY Chevron.

Check out all the details in the these close ups....

I wove some wire around a few elements on the page. And this close up shows you the awesome Charms Creation! And I love the glitter enamel dots from D-lish Scraps!

Flutterby Designs flair here! Perfect!

Picture This - February

Another fun challenge this month at Picture This, with their Tic Tac Toe board....

And today I have done a page of a Picture This DT member (and the person who got me started joining in on the challenges at Picture This).... Emma. I was lucky enough to meet her by chance at a Craft show last year. Here is my page. I have gone diagonal, using: 2 photos, layering and paint/mists.

I used Colour Blast to create the background. I roughly drew some circles and then painted them with the Colour Blast Heavy Black Gesso. I add Colour Paste (in Lipstick and Just Blue) through two stencils and then I sprayed and splattered with Colour Shimmer Spray (in Rose Petal and Just Blue).

Then I layered up papers, doily, tabs and embellies to finish the page.

Here you can see the fabbo Rainbow Splendour bow.

Scrap the Girls - February

Hi everyone,

I was on the Scrap the Girls Design Team for over 3 years. This is my first month not on the team, as I stepped aside to let some new talent join. Scrap the Girls continues to thrive and flourish and every month I see so much wonderful inspiration. And this month I get to join in as an entrant! And what better way than with this sketch.....

And some photos of the one and only, fabulous, Sue Plumb. I love this girl, and I love that we have finally found some time to scrap together. Thank goodness for Retreats! And thanks to the equally awesome and talented Anthea English for taking such fab photos of us together!

Here is my page:

First you will see that I flipped the sketch! I used white texture paste through a heart stencil in the centre of the page. I added some Colour Blast and some dribble lines of white house paint, which you will see in the close ups.

Lots of Flutterby Designs word stickers on this layout - watch for a couple of swear words, sorry if that offends you.

Here in title, you see a Flutterby Designs word diecut, on top of a Charms Creations denim chevron.

Another Charms Creation, this time a star, with a D-lish Scraps sequin bow on top. Punchinella, stamens and glitter dots also from D-lish Scraps.

In this close up you can see the sprays and splatters of Colour Blast Shimmer Spray (in Just Blue, Bling and Rose Petal). I also had sprinkled Colour Blast Embossing Powder (in Just Blue and Bling) into the white texture paste while still wet, then heat set it with my heat gun.

Okay, that's it from me!
