Scrap the boys - AUGUST challenge

Hi all,

Honestly.... I rarely do this SCRAP THE BOYS challenge blog, for the simple reason that I have 3 girls and its not often I have a photo with JUST boys!

I was determined to give it a go this month though... And ended up doing TWO pages!

August Challenge:
Monochromatic layout (one colour), twine and chipboard

Here was my first layout:
RED + twine + chipboard title.
Papers: Prima, Cosmo Cricket, Crate and other scraps from my "reds" bag
Letters: Old Buzz&Bloom chipboard, October afternoon, Bo bunny
staples (black ones I found at Typo), twine, buttons, brads, washi etc, etc.

Then I wondered whether "JIM" was technically a "BOY" or not and maybe it wouldn't qualify...

Then, I found this cool photo of my good friend Kath's boys and decided I had to scrap it. Here it is:

BLUES + Twine (knotted, and I created the circle of twine too) + Chipboard (word, circles, speech bubble)
Papers: Carolee creations, Teresa Collins
Fancy pants letter stickers, Teresa Collins diecuts & stickers, vellum envelope and bow from D'Lish scraps, buttons, sequins, Lilybee sticker word, paper rose.

So I did it!
Thanks for looking,

Amanda

Scrap the Girls August challenge... come join us.....

So so so excited to share this page tonight.....

Because it is my sample inspiration for you all, because I am now on the Design Team at Scrap the Girls! I have always loved this blog challenge and its really lovely to be a part of the team.... AND I'd love all my scrap buddies to come and join us this month and have a go at our AUGUST recipe challenge... Scrap the Girls is all about scrapping the girls in your life, so pull out those photos and have a go - no boys allowed though!

The Recipe challenge: You must create a project using:
  • flowers
  • masking
  • doodling and
  • chipboard or wood veneers

  • So here is my layout:

I used some OLD Heidi Swapp circle masks (for the big circle and spots), as well as my Mr Huey Chevron mask. I also created the "LOVE" word (as a part of the title) using a Crafters Workshop Mask and black ink. I doodled around the circles, which was kinda fun!

Papers: Crate, Echo Park, MME, Studio Calico (lots of scraps!)
Letters: Wood chip (from my APOCD kit), October Afternoon and Sassafras
Embellishments: Flowers, sequins, seed beads, Freckled Fawn heart wood chips and enamel dots, American crafts glazed button, Greatest View flair, Typo black staples, 2crafty chipboard, Jenny bowlin sticker, some glitter tape.

Most importantly, this layout has a cool photo of my BFF, Kylie. As the layout suggests, I love this girl! Totally!

Thanks for looking and let me know when you get your challenge done, I'd love to see it! PLUS... you are in the running for some FAB prizes!!!!

"Hello cake" - Layout for Show Us Your Stuff challenge - AUGUST 2013

    Hi everyone,

Just sharing this layout for the August challenge at SUYS.

This was a sketch challenge.... and of course to use something handmade.
I have a APOCD flair button in there,....
But also is a hessian/muslin twisted flower, made by me! Yay!

Papers and embellishments from the lastest APOCD kit.
There's a studio calico bow in there, some fancy pants stickers, wooden bits, and even a really really old diecut flower from Sassafras....

Loved the sketch and loved the colours of this layout I created!

    Thanks for looking,
    Amanda
