123 Challenge: October

Hi everyone,

Sharing my page for the challenge at 123 this month.

And here is my page and some close ups:

I created this background by tracing circles through a circle template. I then used Tim Holtz distress stains (twisted citron was the perfect LIME)  through a spotty stencil onto some of those circles. I plastic bag stamped for some random green splashes around the page. I also used the Tim Holts Distress ink pen (in cracked pistachio) to add some highlights around the circles. I also stamped with my old favourite maiden-hair fern stamp! After placing the white background on a spotty green background (same paper used to matte the photo), I also machine-stitched in black thread around the outside.

I embellished with:
Vellum envelope and vellum bow from Rainbow Splendour. I wrapped black twine around the centre of the bow for a different effect.

Oh... even an old Purple Pumpkin fabric button from my stash!

I also used paper flowers, resin flowers, old fabric flag and enamel shapes/dots, all from D-lish Scraps.

The clear black stickers from MAMBI were perfect too!

Thanks for looking!

Kraft Plus - October

Another fabulous page at Kraft Plus for October.

Kraft, plus "inspired by nature".

Here is my page and some close ups:

I created this background with texture paste through a script and word stencil. Then I stuck down some strips of washi as well as some of the chipboard hearts and the chipboard feathers (from Scrapmatts). Next I used Gesso but mixed with water to do the white-washed background over parts of the page, and including the chipboard. Then I sprayed some Dylusions spray mist (in Pure sunshine); I used a baby wipe to wipe some of the colour around, which was also handy to add the same colour to some of the paper flowers. A few splatters of Dylusions and of Heidi Swapp gold Color Shine and my background was done!

Some of the embellishments include:
Hessian leaves from Rainbow Splendour
Punchinella, paper flowers, resin flowers & enamel dots from D-lish Scraps.

But of course, for me, the title and the journaling are the most important part of this page. I need to scrapbook some of the difficult parts of my life, including fighting to save my marriage! Making this page, connecting with my heart and writing those words- gives me the strength I need for the fight. And it is all worth it!

Thanks for looking!

Scrap the Girls - October challenge

Another month - October! Wow! It will be Christmas before we know it!

Click here to see the challenge with Scrap the Girls this month! So much inspiration from the team!

Cool colours on this amazing mood board!

Here is my page and some close ups:

I used the brick chipboard from Molossi, and after priming it with white gesso, I then used some paints to colour it. I used lots of water to try and achieve that ombre/washed effect, which I also repeated along the top and bottom of the page.

Combined an old skeleton leaf from the stash, with some painted and embossed feathers from Scrapmatts, some twine and some hand-dyed muslin from D-lish Scraps.

Perfect pink and gold Charms Creations heart, as well as flowers. resin, enamel shapes and sequin bow, all from D-lish Scraps.

Another Charms Creations cloud, layered with a Resin bird and enamel shape from D-lish Scraps.

Hope you can join the challenge this month.
