"Love you"- Scrap the Girls - August 2017

Hi there,

Scrap the Girls, has had some great mood boards lately and this month I finally found time to give it a go.

I did my page while I was away at the Scrap and Chat Retreat and sadly I had not packed the right photo to get the challenge done. Luckily, Rachael, on the next table, pulled out an awesome photo of her daughter and I was instantly inspired and knew what I wanted to do!

Here is my page!

I used loads of Colour Blast too - Starting with the Colour Blast Black Heavy Gesso with wide brush strokes on the background. I had stuck the word "LOVE" down with some stickers as a mask, I painted over them and then peeled the stickers off to create that part of the title.

I used Colour Paste in Stormy Weather through the tree branch stencil and did some sprays with Colour Shimmer Spray in Stormy Weather and splatters with Colour Shimmer Cube in Dusty Charcoal and Steel.

I used a Charms Creation arrow, amongst some other great embellishments!

Finishing touches include sequins and then from Flutterby Designs, some sticky quotes.

Thanks for looking today and thank you to Scrap the Girls for inspiring me to create a page that I would not usually do!

Amanda

Scrap the Boys - August 2017 - DT page

Hello scrappy friends,

Welcome again to August! Here is the challenge at Scrap the Boys...

I love this photo of Dave playing touch football, so I enlarged it to 5X7 for this challenge.

I drew some dodgy stars (for the Southern Cross) and then painted it using Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dusts (in Sunflower and Paris). I also stamped some stars and made some splatters.

I focused on this title.... but also added some wooden arrows and stars (which I embossed with Colour Embossing Powder (in Dusty Charcoal).

Go the green and gold! And go Dave!

Thanks for looking,
Amanda

Show Us Your Stuff - August 2017 - DT page

Hello everyone!

August is here.... time for some more scrappy sharing!

Check out this great sketch for Show Us Your Stuff!

No automatic alt text available.

And here is my page .... get ready for cuteness!! ;)

The cutie is my niece Isla, and these were the first real smiles I captured on camera!

I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio papers (including some fussing cutting!) and some Colour Blast Shimmer Sprays and Shimmer Cubes for the background work.

Here are some close ups:

I used a Charms Creations Arrow here - one in denim and pink... pretty and perfect amongst the fussy cut flowers and D-lish Scraps paper flowers.

Here I used a Rainbow Splendour Pretty Pin.

Hope you join our sketch challenge this month.

Kraft Plus August 2017 - DT page

Hi all,

I am loving being on the DT at Kraft Plus. Please make sure you check out the challenge this month and all the amazing examples.... HERE...

Here is this month's challenge....

And here is my page and some close ups...

I started this page by adding some Colour Blast Heavy White Gesso to the Kraft background. I then used Colour Paste (in Sunshine) through the sun-ray Tim Holtz stencil. Lastly for the background I splattered some Colour Shimmer Cube (in Apple of my Eye) and painted some on the edges.

You can see that I ended up trimming the edges of the kraft paper and mounting it on a plain soft yellow paper. Not only does this help with the buckle, I also like the look. I usually steal a square from the middle, so I can matte the photo with the same paper!

I also printed some journaling on vellum and stuck this on the layout, some down the side and some in the sun-rays.

I went with leaves and flowers as a theme for this page, and as I am currently obsessed with embossing, you will see loads of Colour Blast Embossing powders in action!

Along the top of the photo, I continued leaves from the tree in the photo. I used 2Crafty chipboard leaves and embossed them with Colour Blast Embossing Powder (in Leather and Apple of my Eye).

In this cluster also layered in a Pip Berry stem , stamen, resin butterfly and flowers- all from D-lish Scraps.

And this flair is also from D-lish Scraps!

This cute flag was from my stash - where do we get all these little finishing treasures from?

Lastly for the title, I used a wood veneer word and also embossed it using Colour Blast Embossing Powder (in Leather). I put it on top of a CHARMS CREATIONS DIY arrow. I had coloured this arrow with Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dusts (in Sunflower and Paris).

I also repeated more of the D-lish Scrap goodies: flowers, stamen and pip berry stem.

I love this page. I love that being on the Kraft Plus team is pushing me to create amazing and meaningful pages!

Thanks for looking, Amanda
