Scrap the Girls = November 2018

Hi all,

Today I am sharing my page for the current challenge at Scrap the Girls.- It is titled "Get lost & found & dream"!

Here is the "Let's Get Lost" challenge:
Current Challenge

I went with the blues and silvers, and given the title of the challenge, I thought the photos of Abby at the "Lost and Found" mural were appropriate.

I started with Gesso through the large doily stencil, then hit the page with blues in Colour Artist inks.

Then I embellished with blues, silvers and black.

The black denim Charms Creations star was a good match, paired with a silver Flair, silver glitter heart and flowers all from D-lish Scraps.

More sprinkles, including enamel dots, punchinella and a doiley from D-lish. Also some small silver hearts from Corbett Creations.

Thanks for looking today!

CSI challenge #265 November 2018

Hi all,

I do love the CSI challenges and am always pleased when I have the time to join in!

Here is my take on challenge #265

I loved using the shades of pink with some subtle greys and blacks for this challenge.

My evidence used: flowers, metal (in the wire string of grey beads), book print (the random black stamping with book print stamp), puffy sticker (This was magical), something shiny (the fairy lights in photo of my daughter).

This is a fabulous photo of my daughter (who planned and took the photo herself - talent!) and it was perfect to showcase in this page.

Here are some close ups of all the details.

I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Shakers for the pink on the background - I was able to get these shakers when I won a prize from them through the CSI challenges. Thanks to CSI and it's sponsors!

Thanks,
Amanda

White with 1 and Stick it Down

Sharing my page for the combined challenge at White with 1 and Stick it Down.

A great colour and a fun sketch! Was so thankful to find this little bit of inspiration to get me started one night!

Here is my page and some close ups...

Here was the sketch and colour:

I did rotate the sketch as I had a portrait photo.

For the background, I used Colour Blast Paste (colour=steel) through a heart stencil. I also added some sprays and splatters in varying shades of grey to the background.

I used washi tape strips to create the cross on the page.

Then I raided my grey stash to embellish the page.

I couldn't find a Charms Creation in grey - but no worries, I sprayed some light grey spray on a DIY banner. I shared this page over at Charms Creations this week for my design team work!

Plus a sequin bow, flowers, and spotty button from D-lish Scraps.

The lovely resin hearts come from Corbett Creations.

I was excited to find these really old little word stickers in grey, and an old grey cloud in my stash! Amazing what you find when you go digging!

I finished the page with a grey chipboard word from Cocoa Vanilla Studios (More than words).

Thanks for looking today!

"This girl" - #257 CSI July challenge

Hello again.

Holidays... means time to scrap! So I had another go at the fun CSI challenge for July.

Here is my page.....

And this was the Case file.... The small floral design in the bottom left corner was my inspiration!
I started with a sheet of white cardstock and started drawing. I copied the floral and leaf designs.
Then I outlined in black and painted. I used my kids set of cheap water colour paints, and I managed to match the colours perfectly! I added a few stamped images in black also.

In these close ups, you can see some of my finishing touches.

The white, with black and white strips heart by Charms Creations was a lovely addition.

And can't believe our little niece is already past one! Beautiful Miss Isla! perfect subject for my page!

Thanks CSI for a beautiful case file to solve!

"Dreamer" - for CSI #256 June challenge

Hi there!

I have not had time to enter a challenge in months.... but good old facebook - the CSI case #256 popped up on my newsfeed and demanded I create for it!!

Here is my page:

To create the page - I added some plasterers mesh across the page, then swiped some Colour Blast Colour Paste (red fire engine) and Colour Artist Ink in Cranberry into the mesh. I paint swiped the background with a wide brush using Colour Artist inks in Mermaid (turquoise). And added gold splatters using Colour Shimmer Cube. Thank you Colour Blast for an easy no fuss background!! Then a heap of random black stamping and black pen doodling.

This is the CSI challenge. I tried to stick to the colour scheme, but my "yellow" seems too a little too orange now that I look at it! Never mind! I added other elements for the challenge - from the evidence list - grid, dots, solid white background, wet mediums, cactus, washi tape, numbers, etc.

I used a combination of stickers from Pink Fresh studios (Let your heart decide) to embellish the page.

I also added flowers and bling from my lovely D-lish Scraps stash!

The cactus sticker came from a sticker pack from the  fun My Minds Eye Wander collection.

And check out the cute little red heart Charms Creations Terrific Tab.....

Thanks for looking. Hoping to make more time to do these challenges regularly!

Stick it Down - sketch challenge - April 2018

Hi everyone,

When I saw Corbett Creations sponsoring the sketches at Stick It Down, I decided to join in. And then I saw a double sketch. I used to do doubles all the time and now I so rarely do. So the sketch jumpstarted me to give a double a go!

This was the sketch.
April Double Page Sketch

And here is my take...

I started with some old Basic Grey paper and then added newer Cocoa Vanilla Studio papers for the triangles.

I added some stencilling with Colour Blast Colour Paste in snow white, before smooshing and splattering with some Distress Oxide Inks.

To finish I used: Corbett Creations wood and acrylic, Cocoa Vanilla Studio embellishments, some washi tape and a Charms Creations arrow.

Stickers and flair from CVS
Check out that cute wood Octopus and  acrylic water splash - both from Corbett Creations.

More CVS stickers, and the wood shell from Corbett Creations.

Cute sun diecut and buttons from CVS.
You can see the stencilling work in this close up too.

This is a Charms Creations DIY arrow - I coloured it using the Distress Oxides ink.
Also some CVS stickers.

Last cluster - more stickers, buttons, flower and flair from CVS.
And wood starfish and acrylic water splashes from Corbett Creations.

Loads of lovely Australian products right here! Go Aussies!
