My Masters entries 2014

Hi everyone,

Decided that I would share my entries for the Scrapbooking Memories Masters competition from 2014. This was the 2nd year that I have entered, and I ended up leaving it to the last minute to get it done and pulled a few late nights! Anyway, I was really super happy with my entries.

And I was excited to get my mag yesterday, and see that I had received an Honourable Mention for my "Travelling for Work" page. Yay! Just happy to be amongst such awesome talent.

Task 1 - Requirement: 5X7 photo with eye contact.

I do love this page... it still uses all the patterned papers that I love, but also incorporates some of the new mixed media backgrounds which I have used more in 2014.

Task 2 - Use a non-traditional scrapbook item on the page

I used a doily placemat as a mask, and milk bottle lids as stampers for the circles. I also used the trusty white mesh plasterers tape.

Task 3 - Journalling as a feature

I had a fair bit of journaling, so I ended up hiding some under a flap that opened easily on the page. I printed it all on vellum, which, let me tell you, took FOREVER to stick down!!!! This was the page I got an Honourable Mention for, and is currently published in the January magazine.

Task 4 - Art Journal

As I left things to the last minute, I didn't end up being able to find an Art Journal at my local shops - my solution - I made my own journal - with cardboard cover and patterned paper pages. Although different, I was really happy with how it turned out. Since I got the book back in November, I have tried to "journal" a few pages. Definitely need to work on this! LOL!

Thanks for looking today.

D'Lish Mood Board - January

I got the "Just add paper" kit from D'Lish and just had to have a go at the Mood Board.

And here is my page and a close up:

Gesso background, then doodled square with my awesome posca pen! I used the plastic bag stamping with yellow gelatos within the black square.

Layered all the bits from the kit to finish it off!

Thanks for looking,

123 Challenge for January

Hi everyone,

I loved the challenge at 123 this month.

Here is my page and a close up.

I used white gesso on the background, and stuck lace to it. I used yellow gelatos on the background, and silver embossing powder on the lace.

I sewed folds in the top paper and ribbon.

Thanks for looking,

White with 1 - January challenge

Hi all,

Here is my page for the challenge at White with 1, this month.
ww1 placid blue

I also used the SKETCH from Sketchabilities.
sketchabilities Jan sketch in collab with ww1.

And here is my page....

Texture paste, gesso and distress stains for the background.

I layered muslin, washi, a doily, WOW chipboard circle under the photo, and then finished with a crotchet flower, A Lil Something Butterfly Rosette, Prima leaves and paper rose.

A great challenge this month!!!

Show Us Your Stuff - January 2015 challenge

Hi again,

Was fabulous to design the sketch for the January challenge at SUYS... join us for some inspiration and chance to win a prize!!!!!!

Here was the sketch I designed:

And here is my page....

MORE amazing photos taken by my friend Barbara!

A bit of fussy cutting with Heidi Swapp papers...
Remember SUYS is all about using HANDMADE stuff so the handmade elements I used are: the gold scallop from D'lish (plus the bow and flowers), as well as the flair from A Piece of Cake Designs. Easy to layer with some diecuts and word stickers and enamel dots, stickers, sequins and twine.

Hope you can join the fun at SUYS this month. I would love to see your take on the Sketch.

Thanks,
Amanda
