Picture This - February

Another fun challenge this month at Picture This, with their Tic Tac Toe board....

And today I have done a page of a Picture This DT member (and the person who got me started joining in on the challenges at Picture This).... Emma. I was lucky enough to meet her by chance at a Craft show last year. Here is my page. I have gone diagonal, using: 2 photos, layering and paint/mists.

I used Colour Blast to create the background. I roughly drew some circles and then painted them with the Colour Blast Heavy Black Gesso. I add Colour Paste (in Lipstick and Just Blue) through two stencils and then I sprayed and splattered with Colour Shimmer Spray (in Rose Petal and Just Blue).

Then I layered up papers, doily, tabs and embellies to finish the page.

Here you can see the fabbo Rainbow Splendour bow.

Scrap the Girls - February

Hi everyone,

I was on the Scrap the Girls Design Team for over 3 years. This is my first month not on the team, as I stepped aside to let some new talent join. Scrap the Girls continues to thrive and flourish and every month I see so much wonderful inspiration. And this month I get to join in as an entrant! And what better way than with this sketch.....

And some photos of the one and only, fabulous, Sue Plumb. I love this girl, and I love that we have finally found some time to scrap together. Thank goodness for Retreats! And thanks to the equally awesome and talented Anthea English for taking such fab photos of us together!

Here is my page:

First you will see that I flipped the sketch! I used white texture paste through a heart stencil in the centre of the page. I added some Colour Blast and some dribble lines of white house paint, which you will see in the close ups.

Lots of Flutterby Designs word stickers on this layout - watch for a couple of swear words, sorry if that offends you.

Here in title, you see a Flutterby Designs word diecut, on top of a Charms Creations denim chevron.

Another Charms Creation, this time a star, with a D-lish Scraps sequin bow on top. Punchinella, stamens and glitter dots also from D-lish Scraps.

In this close up you can see the sprays and splatters of Colour Blast Shimmer Spray (in Just Blue, Bling and Rose Petal). I also had sprinkled Colour Blast Embossing Powder (in Just Blue and Bling) into the white texture paste while still wet, then heat set it with my heat gun.

Okay, that's it from me!

Thanks for looking,
Amanda

Kraft Plus - February

I love Kraft Plus!

Beautiful colours and sketch this month. Two sponsors of Kraft Plus are Charms Creations and Colour Blast - as I am on the team for both, I had to join the challenge and use their products!

Here is my page and some closeups.

I used a water wash of Colour Blast White Gesso on the background. I splattered and stamped some texture in the gesso while it was still wet. I mixed Colour Mica Powder (Polar blue) in some Gel medium and a bit more Gesso and used it through a script stencil, for the soft blue in the background.

I have layered my photos with some papers and good old plasterers mesh, and added a few other of my favourite embellishments.

Pip berry stems, stamen, doiley and punchinella are all from D-lish Scraps. Stapling things down is perfect for these kinds of embellishments and it looks funky too.

Here is a close up of the super cute Charms Creations Terrific Tab - this silver glittery one with mint is perfect!

Now let's talk about the brackets and arrow. These were created with chipboard and Colour Blast Embossing Powders. My good scrap buddy, Melissa Struhs, described the technique in her recent blog post, and she was nice enough to show us when we were scrapping together yesterday. I used a darker blue versamark ink and then Singing the Blues Embossing Powder on the brackets. Basically you use lots of embossing powder and press a stamp into it as it is cooling. To me, it looks like droplets of water on those brackets. So cool. For the Arrow, I used a cream versamark ink and then Snow White Embossing Powder, with a sprinkle of Bling Embossing Powder. I think they look pretty special. Thanks Mel!

Scrapbooking Top 50 - February

Hi everyone!

I loved this sketch over at STB50 this month....

While I was helping my friend Emily step outside of her comfort zone and "smoosh" colour to a bag with the plastic technique... I decided that I could use the same technique to create a page for this sketch.

Background created with Colour Blast!
I used the gesso on the background, then on a sheet of plastic, I sprayed water and sprinkled some Colour Shimmer Dusts. More water, and then I pressed the white cardstock into the colour.

I also added a layer of Colour Paste in Sunshine (through an awesome Flutterbys stencil), and some sprays of Colour Spray in Saffron, and some splatters of Colour Shimmer Spray in Just Blue and Colour Spray in Roadbase black.

I did this page whilst scrapping with my old scrap buddies. We were stash busting, and my friend Chris pulled out her old Making Memories rub on letters. Man I love these things! After all these years, they still work, and I added a few to the background and for the title.

(Note: please excuse the typo I am now just seeing in the journaling, clearly Jessie is firing Nerf bullets not buttons, must had buttons on my mind! LOL!)

For embellishments: I used 2Crafty Framed Chained Circles, a Charms Creations emoji, and flair, buttons, enamel dots all from D-lish Scraps.

And here is the NEW challenge....

I went with an old photo of my grandad and my cousin Ben.

I used 7Dots studio paper and elements predominantly. The colours were perfect!

Finished with a few embellies from D-lish Scraps.... always a good finisher!
