Show Us Your Stuff - November

Welcome to November....

Can't wait to share this page, cos I think it is kinda cool!

The challenges at SUYS this month is NO PEOPLE.

And here is my page and some close ups...

A cluster here of all good things...
Handmade items from:
Cool cogs and Glitter arrow from Burdy's Embellies
Chevron from Charms Creations
Felt bow from Rainbow Splendour
Flair from Funky Flair Studio

Plus awesome embellishments (puffy alphas, resin, punchinella, doily) from D-lish Scraps.

And I love the background I created .... here's what I did.
1. Gesso's the background
2. Dribbled white house paint around and left to dry overnight.
3. Sprinkled 4 colours of Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Dust onto a big sheet of plastic.
4. Sprayed Shimmer Dust with water and watched the colours run
5. Pushed cardstock onto the colour and then dried it quickly with heat gun to keep the colour through the centre of the layout and not all over the page!

Oh so messy, but how cool does it look??~!!!!

Thanks for looking today!

Kraft Plus - October challenge

Hi again,

Sharing my page for this cool challenge at Kraft Plus....

I used clear gesso on the kraft background, so when I used the water-mixed colours, they would not soak in. I added a layer of texture paste as well. The green and orange was created with Colour Blast Shimmer Dusts, which I also used to colour the ribbon, muslin and Charms Creation book paper Terrific Tab.

Behind the photos are: plasters mesh, a doily, brown paper bag, as well as the ribbon and muslin.

Other Blast from the Past items include:
eyelets,
metal brad
punches for the butterfly and flowers.

A fun layout to create! Thanks for looking,
Amanda

Scrap the Boys - October

A fab Sketch challenge at Scrap the Boys this month.

And here is my take on it....

I gesso'd the background and once dry, I sprayed with water and started sprinkling Colour Shimmer Dusts from Colour Blast. Kinda smooshed and moved the colour around, dribbled, sprayed, used lids to make circles.... and generally made a mess. Add a few bits of green at the end!

Finished with resin glitter dots, flowers and sequin bows from D-lish Scraps.

It is definitely fun pulling out all those old photos and scrapping them, this one of my dear old Dad as a baby.

Thanks for looking,
Amanda

Show Us Your Stuff - October

This month we have a very special sponsor at SHOW US YOUR STUFF... none other than artist Leanne Jago. You can win a set of prints from Leanne this month! Cool!

So this month, we were asked to create a project inspired by Leanne's artwork....

I've never painted an animal before, but decided I could give it a go, and I am pretty happy with the outcome. Never created anything like this before and it feels good!

I drew the outline of the butterfly, and then painted using my old set of watercolour paints. I may have nearly fainted from trying to blow the paint around so hard - LOL! :) :)

Finished with a few small embellishments:
* Map Marker from Charms Creations
*Blue glitter chevrons from Burdys Embellies
* and Sequin butterfly, wooden butterfly and resin and enamel dots from D-lish Scraps

Thanks for looking,
Amanda.

White with One - October

Here is this month's colour at http://whitewith1.blogspot.com.au/

And here is my page....

I really focused on a few perfect pieces of paper from my stash for this challenge.
Although I tried something different with my white background. I stuck a piece of spotty tulle fabric to the white cardstock. It may be hard to see from the photos, but it created a lovely soft layer of texture to my page.

I finished with flowers, flairs and resin dots from my D-lish Scraps stash.

Hope you join in this month.

Amanda

Scrap the Girls - October

A pretty, but tricky mood board this month at Scrap the Girls. Purple always gets me!

This month's sponsor is COLOUR BLAST
I used a number of Colour Blast products to create this background:

I mixed Colour Mica Powder (in Wisteria) with gesso to create the soft lilac background. I used an old roller stamp (plus design from Glitz) to roll some of the colour around the page!
I used the same purple mix to paint the scroll chipboard.
I sprayed Colour Spray (in Rainforest) for the mint green in the background. I also used this Colour Spray to colour some white flowers.
Finally I used some Colour Paste (in Steel), which I roughly swiped across the background in patches.
I swiped Colour Shimmer Spray (in Steel) around the edges of the page.
And I sprayed ribbon and lettering ("sweet") with Colour Spray (in Grape).

I used:
Flair, paper flowers, doiley and punchinella from D-lish Scraps.
Felt bow from Rainbow Splendour.
